inspiration: august 2009

Inspiring me these days and nights:

I have to say that my head and heart have been all over the place this month; I have found it very hard to be inspired. I've felt antsy. But these few, simple bits have come up in my life again and again throughout August and they have made me so, so happy. And very inspired. To me August is not about a summer's end but rather about the promise of a new beginning. The upcoming slower seasons of autumn and winter await far in the distance and I am at my best in those seasons. I do think I'll stretch the summer fruit tart baking just as long as I can which should be well into the winter as I have already frozen so many of the freshest Maine blueberries. I feel ready for September and whatever comes next. —MAV
