A few long walks on the beach with visiting friends inspired these August cards. When I started work on the designs I struggled wanting to create patterns that were as three-dimensional as what I am seeing when I am sinking my feet into the sand. It was tough. These cards went through several design phases before I landed where I did. In the end I had to remember that I was creating a reminder of those walks and I couldn't actually take members on the walks ... and that would just have to be good enough (grumble grumble). Once the cards were printed and I held them in my hands I was able to see and feel what I was looking for all along. Peaceful, small, always moving ... thankfully I can almost hear the sea when I look at the cards now.
