inspiration: june 2010

Inspiring me these days and nights:

Moon-lit nights
Moody farmers market veggies

Celebrating the beginning of summer
Sundays Are For Lovers in my hands
Peonies in my sitting room
Stains from the first summer strawberries
Water with lemon (always with lemon in the summer)

The start to summer is always so bittersweet for me. I don't know why but I always feel so emotional and nostalgic during this season. Maybe it is because the heat slows me down enough to sit and think or maybe it is because I wistfully recall the long summers being out of school as a kid but whatever it is I feel it. And to add to that emotion, with the passing of June's 4th Card Society birthday, I announced that I will be bringing my beloved card club to a close in 2011 (although memberships will be shipped out into 2012); that was difficult for me as well. Why is it that summer comes in with such heaviness? I am curious to know and explore and so I move forward into this season with the intention of doing so. —MAV
