It was odd to me to go somewhere warm this winter. I don't usually have a chance to get out of town in January or February when most Mainers do. And I have never been to Texas. I must say I was pleased with what I found: abountiful landscape, really good food and plenty of friendly people. I have a feeling come January, 2012 I will be wanting to get a warm fix now that I've given it a try. Travel always sets you right and in this case it set me right for the start of a new year. —MAV
